I went to pick up my lil one from school one day early. She was playing on the playground. She was so adorable playing with the other children.
I was so proud to be there and be her mommy. When the teacher called her name, she turned and saw me. She ran to me, arms outstretched, yelling, "MOMMIEEEEEEEEE!" I croutched down and held my arms open and she ran into them, almost knocking me over. Her little arms grasped my neck tightly and she hugged me.
I told her I was there early to pick her up because we had somewhere special to go. She looked at me and matter of factly said, "You picked me."
I started to correct her, then I stopped. No matter if her sentence was wrong in this situation, she was right, in today's Roe v. Wade reality, I DID pick her. I CHOSE to have her, I CHOSE to keep her with me when her dad and I split up, we both knew she would be more stable in the States, I did pick her.
And I would do it again in a heartbeat.
