My mom stopped by work today. We chatted about my lil one. We chatted about several things. I casually mentioned Bill. She didn't burst into flames. I was proud. She had handed me a bag with a little dress for my girl, some mail, and a paperback book. She said, "Your dad ordered that book. He said it's got *insert quotation marks with fingers here* statistics in it." I didn't even look at it until she left.
What am I supposed to take from this? Bill and I are not living together. We are not ready for marriage at this point. Is this a message that I should get married now simply because he and I are in a committed relationship but do not feel we are ready for marriage? Do I want to marry this man? Absolutely. Am I ready to today? No.
I understand he loves me and is concerned for me. And I do appreciate the literature. And I'll probably read it. I am just mulling over the meaning behind the book at this point.
